WOMEN'S SELF DEFENSE

Lake Country Judo is pleased to provide a Women's Self Defense Class. The class will incorporate Judo and Krav Maga techniques in a unique and easy to learn format.

Krav Maga, originally developed in Israel, is the official system of self defence and Hand-to-Hand combat employed by the Israeli Defence Forces, the Israeli National and Military Police, as well as Israeli special operations and security units. The combination of Judo and Krav Maga provides a complete range of techniques to defend against all types of aggression -- be it punches, kicks, chokes, holds, or weapons (e.g. guns, knives, sticks, etc...). Students will learn different techniques to defend against different types of attacks (e.g. how to defend against a knife versus a stick attack), and will also learn to apply principles learned from one scenario to a similar variant scenario.

The Self Defense Class will also teach participants the throws, hold downs and submissions of Judo and will award belt promotions as you advance in the class. To properly defend yourself one must be physically and mentally prepared to do so therefore the Class focuses on fitness drills, flexibility, circuits and covers the psychology of self defense as well.

Regardless of your age or fitness level the Self Defense Class will help you improve your strength, cardio, coordination, flexibility and confidence while teaching you how to protect yourself and your loved ones.

A Judo Gi ( uniform ) is recommended but not required, a heavy sweat shirt and sweat pants will do. Gis start at approx $50. Everything else is provided.
